Egyptian director Samy El-Siwi dies at 75

Egyptian director and screenwriter Samy El-Siwi, 75, passed away in the early hours of Sunday. Born in 1949, El-Siwi began his career as an assistant director on several TV series, including A Trip in a Crazy World (1986), Spring in Storm (1988), Me, You, and a Long Journey (1989), Men in the Trap (1989), and There’s a Man in Our House (1995). He collaborated with director Radwan El-Kashef in screenwriting some of his films, including Why, Violets? (1993), starring Farouk El-Fishawy, and The Magician (2002), starring Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. He also co-wrote Ard Ard (1998) with director Ismail Morad, which stars Farouk El-Fishawy, Elham Shahin, Ashraf Abdel Baky, and Hassan Hosny. ...
