Dan Lufani, a “boma ndi lomweli” musician, was arrested on Tuesday 11 March 2025 by the police after an incident in which he was allegedly involved in a confrontation with officials from the Lilongwe Water Board in Area 49. The altercation occurred when Lufani, who had reportedly not paid his water bill amounting to K250,000.00, attempted to cut off the water supply.
