Legal notice issued to Gravity Omutujju for alleged copyright infringement of Job Paul Kafeero’s song

The lawsuit, filed through Libirige & Co. Advocates, accuses Gravity of unlawfully reproducing and profiting from Kafeero’s “Walumbe Zaaya” song. According to the legal notice dated February 11, Gravity Omutujju (real name Gereson Wabuyu), along with Pitaxon and producer Rinex under Big Talent, remixed, recorded, and distributed a version of Walumbe Zaaya in 2012 without seeking permission from Kafeero’s family. The lawsuit notes that Gravity’s version, which remains accessible on his YouTube channel, contains unauthorized use of the original audio, lyrics, beats, and even the voice of the late musician. These actions constitute serious violations of copyright and related rights, including infringement of the late Paul Kafeero’s moral and economic rights, unauthorized reproduction and distribution, as well as unlawful commercial exploitation of his intellectual property. ...
