Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala Sings MaMchunu’s Praises As She Bows Out of My Brother’s Keeper. MaMchunu’s passing has come as a shock to many fans of My Brother’s Keeper. In the past couple of episodes, she went through trying times, and this took a toll on her health. Her fans have joined the Shabalala family to mourn their beloved matriarch. We got introduced to MaMchunu back in October 2023, when the telenovela premiered on Mzansi Magic. From the get go, she did everything in her power to protect the Shabalalas. Sometimes though, some of the family members did her wrong, and MaMchunu cut them off. She even went as far as leaving her marriage home, after a hectic fight with her husband, Mshengu Shabalala, played by the veteran Lindani Nkosi. Of recent, MaMchunu wanted nothing to do with one of her sons Nqubeko. This came after it was recently revealed that he is the one behind Thuthuka’s untimely death. ...
