The veteran musician was admitted to Chiradzulu District Hospital last week but is doing fine now. Said Mphande: “We wish to notify the public that Giddes Chalamanda is doing well and is showing signs of improvement. Once he is back on his feet, we will produce a documentary of his life and career. “Potential sponsors or directors of the documentary are welcome to reach out to me.” He thanked all who prayed and financially supported the 94-year-old artist during his time in hospital. Mphande said they will not stand in his way if he wants to continue performing since he loves music. Art enthusiast Emmanuel Maliro said it would be great to preserve Chalamanda’s life because he has contributed a lot to Malawi music industry. ...
