Ghanaian gospel musician cum preacher Sonnie Badu has sparked controversy with his recent statements on women’s hair choices, particularly the use of wigs. Speaking recently during a sermon at the RockHill Church, the US-based Ghanaian preacher asked women to embrace their natural hair, warning that excessive reliance on wigs could have spiritual consequences. Dr. Badu emphasised that a woman’s natural hair holds sacred significance, and covering it with synthetic or human hair wigs might lead to the loss of “glory.” He cautioned that lots of women unknowingly block their spiritual blessings by consistently wearing wigs instead of embracing the natural beauty given to them by God. “There is a glory that comes with being natural. Some of you don’t even know the origin of the wigs you wear on your head, yet you wear them daily without understanding the spiritual implications.
