Born on October 7, Akindele grew up in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, Nigeria, and holds a history and international relations degree from Lagos State University. He began his acting career in 2005 and won the "most promising actor" award at the 2011 Best of Nollywood Awards. He was nominated for "best kiss in a movie" in 2015 and "best supporting actor" in Miss Taken.
