The Ben is a celebrated Rwandan singer and songwriter. In 2010, he moved to the United States where he collaborated with Detroit based hip-hop artist Mike-E Ellison. Later, he was invited to perform at the UN headquarters. Ben's song "I'm in Love", released in October 2012, led to the creation of a new music category at the 2012 Salax Music Award Presentations in Rwanda making him the first ever recipient of Award for Best Music Artist in the Diaspora.
