Dounia Batma is a Moroccan singer and actress. Born into a musical family in Casablanca, Morocco, she is the niece of Laarbi Batma, leader of the Moroccan fusion group Nass El Ghiwane. She first gained national attention in 2010 as a participant in the Moroccan talent show Studio 2M. Her major breakthrough came in 2012 when she finished as the runner-up in the inaugural season of Arab Idol, the Arabic adaptation of the popular Pop Idol series.
